Stinging Nettle

2 oz.

Stinging nettle is a perennial herbaceous plant and is native to Europe, Asia, northern Africa, and North America. It can be found growing in temperate climates around the world. This stinging nettle is foraged from France. It offers several herbal properties and health benefits:

Nutrient-Rich: Stinging nettle is a nutritional powerhouse, rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It contains vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron. Stinging nettle is also a good source of chlorophyll, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Anti-inflammatory: Stinging nettle has been traditionally used to reduce inflammation throughout the body. It contains bioactive compounds such as histamine, serotonin, and acetylcholine, which may help modulate the body's inflammatory response. Stinging nettle may help alleviate symptoms of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, allergies, and skin inflammation.

Allergy Relief: Stinging nettle has antihistamine properties that may help relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies such as hay fever. It can inhibit the release of histamine and other inflammatory compounds in the body, reducing nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, and other allergy symptoms. Drinking stinging nettle tea may provide relief during allergy season.

Diuretic and Detoxifying: Stinging nettle is a natural diuretic, meaning it helps increase urine production and promote detoxification. It may aid in flushing out toxins, excess fluids, and waste products from the body, supporting kidney and urinary tract health.

Directions: add one teaspoon of stinging nettle to hot water. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and enjoy.
